The Andhra Pradesh Film Chamber of Commerce has been established in the year 1979 in Hyderabad, the capital city of Andhra Pradesh, with a view to facilitate services to all sections of film industry such as Studios, Out-door units, Film producers, Distributors and Exhibitors who are spread-over through out the State and it has been recognized by the Govt. of Andhra Pradesh as the sole representative body of the film industry in the State.
The main aim of establishing the Film Chamber is to bring all the film establishments in the state under one umbrella to have mutual co-operation among these members and to represent various problems of the film industry to the State and Central Governments.
The A. P. Film Chamber of Commerce will register the titles of all films produced in the State to avoid competition among its members in titling their films and censoring all the publicity material before censoring the films.
The A. P. Film Chamber of Commerce has established Co-ordination Committees in all the five regions of Andhra Pradesh (Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntakal, Visakhapatnam and Tirupathi) for settling disputes between the producers & Distributors and similarly between Distributors & Exhibitors and help the various Members to carry on their business smoothly. The A. P. Film Chamber of Commerce is a Member of Film Federation of India (FFI) and its Members represent the FFI Executive Committees which is the Apex Body of Indian Film Industry recognized by the Government of India. It takes up all matters connected with Central Government through Film Federation of India by its Representatives. As on date the A. P. Film Chamber of Commerce has got 100% membership in the Infrastructure sector and similarly in the Producer Sector also. Shortly we are going to achieve 100% membership in the Exhibitor sector and efforts are on to achieve 100% membership in the Distributor Sector as well. The A. P. Film Chamber of Commerce is the only trade body having the biggest building complex on an area of 13,000 Sq. Feet with attached Guest Rooms facility to cater to the needs of out-station members. It is the only Trade Body which has got business centre with facilities like Fax, STD, Cyclostyling, Xerox, Business cabins on commercial basis and Job typing which will meet all the requirements of the Members under one roof. The A. P. Film Chamber of Commerce is the only trade body which provides Preview theatre with DTS and Dolby Digital Facility. It has got Branch offices working independantly outside Hyderabad at Vijayawada, Guntakal, Visakhapatnam and Tirupathi.
The A. P. Film Chamber of Commerce has done considerable work to stop video-piracy and unauthorized screening of films through cable TV networks with the co-operation of State Government form time to time. The A. P. Film Chamber of Commerce is representing the State Government on various problems relating to the film industry such as settling of film industry in the Andhra Pradesh, getting concessional rate of tax for the films produced in Andhra Pradesh, rationalizing the admission rates in theatres, getting loans for the infrastructure units and commercial theatres. The A. P. Film Chamber of Commerce is representing the Govt. of Andhra Pradesh from time to time for considerable relief and financial aid to the Exhibitors from the State Government whenever natural calamities hit the State.
Vision: To facilitate services to all sections of film industry and to reach the ultimate horizons of cinema making and bring in an ethical and professional film culture in the industry to inch it ever-closer to International standards.

 KS Rama Rao elected for APFCC
Producer KS Rama Rao (of Creative Commercials) is today elected the new President of the Andhra Pradesh Film Chamber of Commerce, which elections for the new body was held July 27, 2008. B. Ramachandra Reddy is elected the Vice-President. C. Kalyan is elected the Chairman of Producers' wing, while it is Chakrapani for Exhibitors sector. MC Bose is the Chairman for the Distribution sector and P. Kiran Kumar is for the Studio wing. With ruckus erupting between the producers, distributors and exhibitors, elections to other posts of the office bearers got postponed to August 10th.
